Mom (Elaine) is a very kind-hearted person. Her passion has always seemed to be to give love to her children and husband, and to have a loving and peaceful family in return.

Mom has a beautiful singing voice. She sang with a band when she was young, and choir and other church musical groups in her adult years. Currently, as a young 73 year old Mom and grandmother she often participates in senior contests and has won many awards.

Doing crafts and being artistic has always been a part of her being. Art is something she always encouraged her children in and often joined them in creating various projects. After retiring to North Carolina with her husband in 1982, she took lessons and learned to write calligraphy. Around the same time she started picking live flowers, pressing them flat in a phone book and using them to make beautiful pictures. Mom has gotten so good at doing both that she was invited to become a member of "The Carteret County Arts & Crafts Coalition" where she can display and sell her wares at their shows throughout the year.
